Meet Our Therapist

Nerissa is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Additionally, she has a master's and bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration. She spent the first half of her career working in the business side of healthcare. Although she was enjoying a successful career, she felt called to pursue counseling as a result of several volunteer roles she held. She was drawn to the one-on-one aspect of counseling and helping others make positive changes in their lives. So she returned to college to obtain a master's in counseling while continuing to work in the corporate world. After completing her degree and training, she left her corporate career to become a full-time therapist.

Nerissa understands the complexities associated with being a double minority in the corporate space. She's also had personal experiences that helped her understand the importance of having support during difficult life circumstances. She considers it a privilege to support her clients in developing skills and coping mechanisms to improve their lives and relationships with themselves and others.

Nerissa is a level II Gottman's Couples Counseling trained therapist and a certified Prepare-Enrich premarital counselor.

In addition to counseling, Nerissa is a talented public speaker who presents on various mental health topics. She is available to speak at your school, community or corporate event, or church setting.
